If WD’s reliability is half as good with recent drives as it is with my old one, that’s a good thing. Buy WD, it will last a computer or two’s lifespan. If there is a problem, I believe the warranty is 5 years, which is great.

I installed 2 in RAID 1 in my wife’s computer 3 years ago (Core 2 Duo to Haswell). She is a single proprietor desktop publishing, still running. Added a 2nd mirror (D drive) in my wife’s computer in 2015, still running. I don’t care what the whiners say these drives are fast and solid. But I have to admit I have been lucky with the majority of my hardware over the years. What isn’t running isn’t powered. What has failed should have.
